Enhanced diamonds can be divided in two categories; enhanced diamonds of clarity and enhanced diamonds of color. Both of these characteristics, clarity and color, are considered to judge the value of a diamond.

So, enhancements of these features will surely increase the overall value of the diamond. Actually, diamonds come with different inclusions and blemishes. Inclusions are regarded as imperfections within a diamond whereas, blemishes occur while cutting and designing a diamond. Inclusions and blemishes can really hamper the clarity of a diamond and that’s why a diamond may have its clarity enhanced.

Clarity: Valuing an Enhanced Diamond

Clarity enhanced diamonds are obtained by removing their blemishes and inclusions. These flaws are removed by switching to different treatments, such as laser treatments and fracture-filling treatments. These treatments are used only to repair a few of the blemishes and inclusions.

For instance, a laser beam is used to enhance clarity by removing any tiny white or black spots within the diamond. Similarly, fracture-filling treatments repair cracks. However, these treatments come with limitations as large cracks and big inclusions can not be enhanced.
